What is the world talking about today? Every now and then one word keeps recurring, i.e. “Coronavirus”. The Coronavirus has succeeded in captivating attention; not only in the mainstream media but in our own imagination as well. Whether we’re conscious to wash our hands every now and then or to avoid going near infected persons. While many are subjected to fear and panic, others are paranoid about the whole situation. All is because the seat of our consciousness is under attack by this strange Coronavirus.
Here is where the Bible invites us to liberate our consciousness. Paul wrote to the Colossians, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col. 3:16).
The word “riches” reminds us of extreme abundance. We ought to let the word of Christ fill us, through teaching and admonishing one another, singing hymns, spiritual songs, and thankfulness in our hearts.
As we meditate on God’s word, we fill our minds with Christ, and there will be no space left for the fear and panic of coronavirus. The hope and assurances we draw from God’s word are so powerful than any crisis. My message to you is simple, “Keep in mind the word of Christ.”
